Cub Scout Pack 176

On January 17, 2024, Muskego American Legion post 356 had the opportunity to work with another Cub Scout Den with Pack 176, working on one of their Wolf badges.  The badge requirement is “With your den or pack, participate in a flag ceremony, and learn how to properly care for and fold the flag.”

Members of Post 356 started with a demonstration of  the procedure to Posting an American flag.  Next a Post member read “The Flag Speaks” which is a history of the American Flag.  After that two Post members demonstrated how a Veteran's Funeral flag is folded. During the folding demonstration, a third Legion member explained the meaning of the 13 folds as the Flag was folded.

Later the scouts had the opportunity to practice the procedure of folding a flag.  At the end of the meeting a 3 X 5 American Flag was presented to the Den to be used as a practice flag.
