The Commander reported that the Executive Committee thought it would be a good idea on Memorial Day to make a special mention the names of members of the Post who passed away in the previous 12 months. We would make some effort to let the families know. Also in the past we have acknowledged our members from WWII, Korean and Vietnam conflicts and this year we would acknowledge the members from the Lebanon/Grenada era.
The Post is looking for comments – concerns about this.
The Commander then talked about the Scholarship Fund and noted we are looking for 2 volunteers to serve on that committee. Anyone interested please contact the Commander.
The Vets Fish and Chicken Fry is on 28 March 2018 at 5:00 P.M.
The Poppy Distribution at Miller Park is the 16th and 17th of April. The Games state at 6:40 P.M. We should be there at 4:40 P.M. we will leave around 7:10 P.M. The Commander will ask the Ladies Auxiliary for help. Anyone that can help should contact the Commander or Adjutant so we can schedule carpooling and driving in together.
The Ladies Auxiliary is having their Poppy distribution on the 18th and 19th of May. We have helped in the past and we will look to do so this year. This is done at the Grocery stores in Muskego. We will have a signup sheet for this in the upcoming months
Fred Rahm Gave a brief update on the Flag Fund. The Flag Fund Donation requests have gone out and we have received a few in. The New flags have been purchased and are being stored by the City. He has designed and printed up a small form foe New – Replacement – Gift flags that can be given or left at Houses or businesses that have damaged flags flying. See Fred Rahm if you would like one of the forms.
Fred Korth reported for our Service officer.
Charlie Case is having problems with one of his hands and will be going in for Carpel Tunnel Surgery.
Gary Stewart is recovering from an infection
Chuck Post is still recovering from fluid on his heart
In the past 2 months we have lost two of our WWII vets Ray Wolf at 94 and Simon Vitale at 90 and one Korean War Vet Carl Wauer.
On our Ladies Auxiliary side, Shirley Reinke is recovering from Shoulder Replacement Surgery and Roberta Saddy is recovering from the Flu.
Some thoughts to make our upcoming meetings more inviting are having one of the students from Mr. Brehandts History of the Military Students explain to us what the class is about and have someone from City Hall explain what is going on at City Hall
Being no other business the meeting was adjourned.
