 As we celebrate the holidays, we salute the service and valor of our Nation’s men and women who sacrificed so much to preserve our liberty generation by generation. We are also grateful for the Soldiers, Marines, Sailors, Airmen, Guardians and Coast Guardsmen deployed around the world, who work so diligently to protect the freedoms we enjoy and treasure.

On August 4, we celebrated 232 years of the United States Coast Guard’s honorable service. Happy Birthday U.S. On June 1, 2022, the U.S. Coast Guard formally transitioned to new leadership. Admiral Linda L. Fagan (at right) was installed as its 27th Commandant, who notably, is also the first woman in history to oversee a United States Armed Forces service branch.
